This week we received the baby clothes quilt I ordered from a seller on Etsy. I found this great lady a couple of years ago when we wanted to do a baby clothes quilt for Miles and she was so good that I looked her up again when we were ready to do a quilt for Emmett. I picked 48 items from his first year and she made them into a super cute quilt. I never want to just get rid of all the baby clothes so I love this as a way to keep some of my favorites. Both boys love their quilts especially looking at all the squares. The end product is so colorful and fun!

Paint
We've been staying inside more than usual because it's just so horribly hot and painting is a favorite activity both Miles and Emmett enjoy.

I do love a chubby bowlie with a splotch of paint.

We've found that the best strategy for Emmett is just to strip him down and let him at it. There's not a smock in existence that can contain his mess.

Miles is not a cooperative picture taker so while I was busy taking pictures of Emmett, Miles was busy doing this.

Miles must be going through his dark phase because his favorite thing lately has been mixing paint until almost everything is brown.

4th of July
This year we decided to do something different and we headed out to the Moore Independence Day Festival at Buck Thomas park. They had live music, a craft fair, carnival rides, food vendors, and plenty of fun for kids.

Both boys liked the giant sand pit.

Miles decided to check out the bouncy houses. It was $5 and we got our money's worth. The had regular jump houses, huge slides, and obstacle courses. By the time we left Miles was covered in sweat.

We bought some cheap light toys from one of the fair vendors and settled in for fireworks. Both boys loved watching the show. Emmett did cover his ears in some parts, but he never got upset. Overall we had a great evening, but getting out of the parking lot once the fireworks were over took forever. I think next time we'll park down the street and walk to the park just so we don't get caught in all the traffic.
