Park

Both boys love outdoors so we've been outside as much as possible trying to squeeze in all we can while it's not too hot.

Our Backyard Birds

We had a bird family nesting in our backyard these past several weeks and we've enjoyed checking on them regularly. The mama bird always left the nest when we got too close and scolded us until we would back away. Once all the eggs hatched we watched the baby birds develop. It's amazing how quickly they grew! The nest is now empty and our bird family is gone. We hope they come back next year.

Newly hatched.

This little guy was the last to leave the nest.

Week 19

Nothing says summer like bare tootsies, the wind in your hair, and outdoor fun.

Week Eighteen

My selection is pretty slim this week because I haven't been taking many pictures. This is the last good picture of Emmett for a while because Thursday night he fell and ended up banging his face into the corner of a wooden chair. He has a huge goose egg right between his eyes and it will surely leave a lovely bruise.

Mother's Day Picnic

On Mother's Day we took advantage of the weather and had a picnic lunch at the park. It was so much nicer than some crowded restaurant!

Garden Growers

We got a late start, but we finally got this year's garden going. We planted: tomatoes, red peppers, cucumbers, rosemary, parsley, basil, sage, and melon.

Week Seventeen

This week we celebrated an early Mother's Day. Casey took Miles shopping on Friday and he couldn't wait to tell me what he picked out. Casey says the gifts were all Miles' ideas. I love how excited he looks in this picture. He was thrilled to show off his gifts.

Nature Walks

I really enjoy having a little bit of country right outside our back door. Miles loves to go on nature walks or "exploring" as he calls it. We smell wildflowers, listen for birds, look for interesting bugs, and dare each other to go into "the jungle" (little patches of trees on the outskirts of the field).

Bedtime Stories

Miles has several favorite books that we have read literally hundreds of times. He knows them by heart now and likes to do the "reading" himself. Emmett seems to pay better attention to Miles than he does to mama or daddy.
