Several people have recently been asking how the cloth diapering is going. I am happy to report that we are very pleased with the cloth diapers. We have been exclusively cloth diapering for a couple of months now and it's going great! Just the other day Casey mentioned what a good idea it was to switch to cloth. This was coming from the guy who initially said he'd rather walk to work (30 miles) to do his part for the environment. We are using 100% biodegradable rice paper liners which is the only way to do cloth diapers in my opinion. You flush the rice paper along with anything undesirable and there's no mess. We wash diapers every other day and recently we've started hanging them to dry. Hang drying will extend the life of the diaper plus it's saving energy. We're using one size pocket diapers by Bum Genius. They have Velcro fasteners and they are just as easy to get on and off as a disposable. I only wish I had started cloth diapering from the beginning so I could have saved all that money I spent buying disposables. I have found that most people who ask about cloth diapering think I'm rinsing diapers in the toilet and fumbling with pins. Absolutely not. Cloth diapers have come a long way and I was surprised myself to see how easy it is. If anyone is considering it, I highly recommend cloth. You know they must be good if I was able to win over my biggest skeptic, Casey.
