Triming the Tree

We got our tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving. Emmett didn't really care and could hardly be coaxed into participating, but Miles enjoyed it. I had to do a little redistribution because one particular branch got a whole lot of love.

Brothers

Miles and Emmett have been getting better and better about playing together. Some days they are great and some days not so much, but we're moving in the right direction. Just the other day Miles was playing a game in the car and Emmett was being loud. Miles kept insisting that he was too loud and that Emmett was being a bother. I kept telling Miles to ignore it and Emmett would probably quit. About that time Emmett started chanting, "Milesy bother...Milesy bother..." Miles would glare and Emmett would just cackle. He is certainly old enough to know when he's being a pest and to relish the moment. Ah, brothers.

This day though they were get along especially well. When Miles offered to catch Emmett coming off the slide Emmett was so excited. Miles caught him in a big embrace and they just held it there like the picture perfect moment it was.

Goats

We've taken a couple trips to the zoo recently and Emmett just loves the petting zoo area with the goats. Animals behind glass hold no interest for him, but if he can get up close and personal he's all about it. Miles worked up to petting a goat at all while I was trying to make sure Emmett didn't completely make out with one. He was kissing and hugging and making me worry that even very tame goats might not really appreciate the amount of love he was dishing out. They didn't seem to mind though. Emmett does the same thing with our cats and I can say that goats seem more tolerant.

Outside

We've been enjoying the last of our nice outdoor days and I'm dreading the cold days ahead. These boys absolutely love to be outside.
