This weekend Miles was sick. Saturday he ran a fever and was generally lethargic all day. He took a 3 1/2 hour power nap and lounged in front of the TV for the rest of the day. I knew something was up that morning when he climbed into my lap and said, "I just want to cuddle you." He ended up asking to rock a couple of times that day and even asked me to hold him like a baby (cradle). As we rocked it dawned on me that I couldn't remember the last time I rocked Miles. These days my old rocker rarely gets any use. Getting out of the rocker while cradling a 30lb+ child made me realize that we probably don't have many rocking opportunities left. Maybe this was the last one, who knows?
